Cambodia Trek Expedition 2018

We are very excited to announce we have chosen to partner with Camps International to offer students in Years 10, 11 and 12 the opportunity to go on a 4-week expedition to Cambodia in 2018.

This life-enhancing expedition will include living alongside rural communities, working on projects which could include helping to build classrooms, community centres, combat deforestation or protect wildlife. Students will also undertake an adventure element, which this year we have chosen to trek over the Kulen Mountain.

Camps International have been delivering expeditions across Africa, Asia and South America since 2002, sending thousands of students abroad every year. They are an award-winning expedition provider, with an excellent reputation and safety record.

We have chosen to offer students the opportunity of going on this expedition as we know the benefits not only to the community they will be supporting but also as a fantastic opportunity for their own personal development.

Students will gain a huge number of skills and experiences during their fundraising activities and it’s an amazing opportunity for personal development and putting learning into practice. Whilst on the expedition, students will grow in self-confidence, improve their communication and team building skills, and experience first-hand how much impact just one person can have on the world. The experiences and the memories they will create will stay with them forever.

They will have the opportunity to apply for a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Effectiveness, which on successful completion can help to boost their UCAS points. Students will also have a range of experiences which will help when writing personal statements for university and employment applications.

Camps International will be launching the expedition to students this week and we will then be inviting you all to attend a presentation evening where they will explain the expedition in detail and answer any questions you may have.

The Parents Presentation is:
Wednesday 29th March at 18:30 in the Theatre.
