Throughout the day, students will ‘drop everything and read’. Pupils need to bring in a book of their choice.

Around the school, there will be inspirational posters of famous people reading, as well as recommended books from staff at JHNCC.

In English, students will write a ‘Short and Tweet’ story – a competition to write a short story no longer than a Tweet. Prizes for the best ones! Pupils will also be talking about their favourite books and watching a video on the importance of books from the World Book Day organisation.

All pupils will also receive free book tokens on the day.

Lots of quizzes, book recommendations, and videos can be found on the official World Book Day website

Share the front cover of your favourite book on your preferred social media channel, whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat, using the hashtag #ShareAStory

Happy reading!
