About the Role

John Henry Newman Catholic College, part of the Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company (OLAAS MAC), is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Physical Education to join our vibrant PE department on a fixed-term basis from September 2025.

The PE department plays a central role in nurturing students’ physical literacy and promoting lifelong engagement with sport and physical activity. We deliver a broad curriculum that builds leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. We are proud to offer OCR Sport Studies at KS4 and BTEC Sport at KS5, and our enrichment offer includes a wide range of clubs and annual overseas trips, including skiing and football tours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 to KS5.
  • Promote student development in both competitive sport and personal fitness.
  • Support the running of extracurricular sport and external trips.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the PE curriculum.
  • Take an active role in the College community as a form tutor.
  • Uphold and promote the Catholic ethos of the College.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS and have a degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Be an effective and adaptable classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have a passion for sport and a commitment to student wellbeing and success.
