About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Lay Chaplain to join our community at John Henry Newman Catholic College. This is a key role in supporting the Catholic life of the school, providing spiritual guidance and pastoral care, and inspiring students to live out the Gospel values in their daily lives.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Assistant Headteacher (Catholic Life) to lead liturgies, support retreats, and nurture the faith development of students and staff alike.


Main Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the Catholic ethos of the College in all aspects of school life.
  • Lead and organise liturgical events, assemblies, and acts of collective worship.
  • Work with staff and students to plan and participate in retreats, pilgrimages, and faith-based activities.
  • Provide pastoral support and spiritual care to students and staff as required.
  • Coordinate and support student chaplaincy groups, fostering leadership and active participation.
  • Work with parishes and the wider Catholic community to maintain and strengthen links.
