Applications to Aston Universities Pathway to the Professions 2023

Key programme information

  • Full details of the Year 12 Pathway to the Professions Programmes can be found here. Our new entry criteria for next academic year is still being finalised, but information about the Pathways we offer and what’s involved is live on our website now. We have also attached our Pathway to the Professions Brochure which includes useful information and answers to frequently asked questions. Our short promotional video can also be shared with your students.

 

  • Places on our Pathway to the Professions Programmes are open to students entering Year 12 in September 2023 in West Midlands school/colleges, who have the potential to enter higher education and are considering a degree in Medicine, Healthcare, Law, Business or Engineering and Technology (STEM).

 

  • Successful applicants will have access to a wide range of services and events to support their applications to university on their chosen Pathway stream such as subject specific taster days, A Level revision Boot Camp’s and university application support, as well as guest speaker sessions from professions in their chosen sector.

 

 

  • Students can apply to more than one Pathway but will only be accepted on to one Pathway Stream during the selection process

 

  • Please note, students are required to attend all compulsory events across the 18-month programme. Confirmation of event dates will be circulated to successful applicants and teachers after the launch in November.

Access Creative College Birmingham’s next Open Day is on Tuesday 18th July 2023 from 5-7pm!

 

It is at our campus in Heath Mill Studios, 68 Heath Mill Lane, Digbeth, Birmingham, B9 4AR, and we would like to invite Year10/Year 11 students who may be interested in studying a course within the creative industry.

Following the success of four previous #GirlTechWM events, this year we are delighted to bring back this inspiring experience for female students in Year 8 and 9 at a brand new venue.  When: Thursday 6 July (8.30am – 2.30pm) Where: x+why, 6 Brindleyplace, Birmingham, B1 2JB

There are tech opportunities at over 12,500 businesses in the West Midlands, home to the largest FinTech cluster in the UK. Your students can learn about these career options in the region’s fastest growing sector.

This day-long festival will see leading employers from across the region host interactive workshops, speeches and speed networking to help students meet and ask female role models in the tech industry questions, as well as give them hands-on experience of working in this sector. This event is free of charge to schools.

After #GIRLTECHWM 2022, 95% students said they understood the skills needed for a successful career in tech and digital.
